FASHION TRENDS HAVE a habit of coming back around – the 90s is still alive on the high street, while Juicy Couture tracksuits were recently welcomed back into the fold.
But we’re hoping that when the time finally comes to revive the trends of the late 2000s, they’ll skip over all of these. Really. Just let them die.
1. Wearing a little waistcoat buttoned over a t-shirt

This is still a trend, but now the style leans more towards those Granda glasses Conor McGregor favours rather than your typical ‘geeky’ style. It remains inexplicable.
9. Hairbands worn around the forehead

So cute! So boho! Just don’t take it off in public lest everyone see the MASSIVE RED WELT on your forehead.
10. Footless tights

These were also good for the massive red welts (maybe that was the true trend of 2008?), as well as an extreme stumpifying effect on your legs. Baffling.
Who were you in 2008 if you weren’t pairing outrageously coloured or patterned tights with everything you wore, regardless of if it worked or not? The Saturdays based their whole look around them, FFS. They were almost mandatory.
12. And satin

Satin. It was everywhere in 2008. Oh, you LIKE the suspense of wondering who’s going to spill the drink that ruins your dress forever? Then by all means bring back wearing copious amounts of satin.

12 trends from 2008 that should probably just stay there
FASHION TRENDS HAVE a habit of coming back around – the 90s is still alive on the high street, while Juicy Couture tracksuits were recently welcomed back into the fold.
But we’re hoping that when the time finally comes to revive the trends of the late 2000s, they’ll skip over all of these. Really. Just let them die.
1. Wearing a little waistcoat buttoned over a t-shirt
From basically everyone on the Disney Channel, to your local Penneys, to you.
2. Enormous waist-cinching belts
Actually, maybe these could come in handy for stashing snacks etc for later. We may revise our opinion on enormous waist belts yet.
3. Bubble hems
Dresses were not the only things to be afflicted by bubble hems – tops could also be bubbled, lest we forget:
These two pictures are from the same event, which should give you an idea of the prevalence of bubble hems in 2008. Deeply troubling.
4. Knee-high gladiator sandals
